Meet Alicia – Certified Personal Trainer and Yoga Teacher

Fitness has always been a central part of my life. I became a trainer so I could personally share my love of feeling strong, capable and fit at any age. My goal is to empower my clients to go further than they think they can, while creating a strong, motivated, sexy identity.

I enjoy traveling the world on my bike or on the back of a tandem bike with my husband. I practice yoga, hike, play tennis and cross country ski. I grew up in the California sunshine, but I made my home and family in our beautiful state of Colorado. I have a husband; three daughters, a dog named Karma, a cat and I raise chickens! By doing what I love, I can awaken the goals in others.

Philosophy

Fitness is a journey, not a point in time. Ask yourself, if what you’re doing today is getting you closer to where you want to be tomorrow? I believe great things can be accomplished if you set a goal and systematically work towards it. If you slip, pick yourself up (fix your ponytail) and start again.

I will challenge you to be your best. Let’s set some goals……..then demolish them!!!

Training Style

I believe everyone can benefit from functional training to improve the mechanics of everyday activities. I progress my clients from proprioceptive enriched environments to maximal strength or sports specific power applications.

For my clients strength training will recharge your metabolism so you will burn more calories, protect you from osteoporosis by boosting your bone mineral density and it is the fastest way to trim your body. Additionally, strength training will reduce stress, improve your sleep and increase your confidence and self-worth. I will tell you that it never gets easier, you just get stronger!

I will push you to your edge. The edge is the point during an exercise when you are still within your capacities but are challenging yourself to go just a little farther. It is at the edge that real change and growth occur. If you work hard to get to the edge you will start to see the changes you want in both your body and your life.

Hatha yoga, the practice of postures is a very physical form of yoga. At the core of this practice are breath control, focus and relaxation. Incorporating yoga into a strength resistance regime increases the body’s potential for flexibility and circulation of blood to tissues, which brings more nourishment to the cells, stimulating the proper functioning of every body system.

Push yourself, scare yourself and make yourself proud!
